Puducherry’s Skies Reopen: Flight Services Resume to Bengaluru and Hyderabad

After a hiatus of over a year, flight operations have resumed in Puducherry, reconnecting the city with major metropolitan hubs. On December 20, 2024, private airline IndiGo commenced daily direct flights between Puducherry and Bengaluru, as well as Puducherry and Hyderabad. The inaugural flight from Bengaluru, carrying 74 passengers, landed at Puducherry Airport, where it was greeted with a traditional water salute.

The newly launched services are scheduled as follows:

  • Bengaluru to Puducherry: Departs at 11:10 AM, arriving at 12:15 PM.
  • Puducherry to Bengaluru: Departs at 12:45 PM, arriving at 2:30 PM.
  • Hyderabad to Puducherry: Departs at 3:05 PM, arriving at 4:50 PM.
  • Puducherry to Hyderabad: Departs at 5:10 PM, arriving at 6:35 PM.

These daily flights are expected to enhance connectivity and convenience for travelers in the region, making it easier to travel to and from Puducherry. The resumption of these flight services is a significant milestone for Puducherry, revitalizing its status as a key destination in South India and offering both residents and visitors improved travel options.
