Travelers flying in and out of Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport will face major disruptions as daytime flights are set to be suspended for five months due to runway expansion work. This project, aimed at enhancing the airport’s capacity and infrastructure, will affect numerous domestic and international flights.
The flight suspension will be in effect from February to July 2025, with operations halted between 9:30 am and 6:00 pm daily. Airlines have already begun notifying passengers about rescheduling and cancellations, urging travelers to rebook their flights for early morning or late evening slots.
The expansion project is expected to improve the airport’s ability to handle larger aircraft and increased air traffic in the future. However, in the short term, the disruption will pose challenges for business and leisure travelers alike. Those with planned trips from Lucknow during this period are advised to check with their airlines for updates and alternative flight options.
While the temporary inconvenience may affect travel plans, the upgrade is expected to position Lucknow’s airport as a key aviation hub in North India, offering better facilities and connectivity in the long run.
