IndiGo to Launch Daily Direct Flights Between Kolkata and Phuket

December 2, 2024

IndiGo, India’s leading low-cost airline, is set to enhance its international network with the launch of daily direct flights between Kolkata and Phuket starting December 27, 2024. This marks the airline’s second direct route to Phuket, following its successful Delhi-Phuket operations.

The new route is designed to meet the growing travel demand between India and Thailand, especially with Thailand’s visa-free policy for Indian citizens, which has fueled increased tourist interest. With this addition, IndiGo will now operate 93 weekly flights between India and Thailand, including its existing 11 weekly flights between Kolkata and Bangkok.

Phuket, renowned for its pristine beaches and cultural diversity, is a popular destination for Indian travelers. The airline’s expansion aims to strengthen trade, tourism, and connectivity between Southeast Asia and eastern India, with Kolkata positioned as a vital regional hub.
