Golden Chariot Luxury Train: A 7-Star Experience on Rails

The Golden Chariot, a luxury tourist train showcasing Karnataka’s rich cultural heritage, is set to roll out in a grand new avatar starting December 14, 2024. Operated by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the revamped train promises a blend of opulence, comfort, and unique travel experiences across South India.

For the 2024-25 season, the Pride of Karnataka itinerary kicks off on December 14, departing from Bengaluru and covering Bandipur, Mysore, Halebidu, Chikmagalur, Hampi, Goa, and back to Bengaluru over 5 nights and 6 days. Another itinerary, Jewels of South, begins on December 21, offering an exploration of Mysore, Kanchipuram, Mahabalipuram, Thanjavur, Chettinad, Cochin, Cherthala, and a return to Bengaluru in the same duration.

The Golden Chariot boasts 40 elegantly designed cabins, including 13 double-bedded, 26 twin-bedded, and one accessible cabin for differently-abled guests, accommodating up to 80 passengers. Cabins are equipped with smart TVs, luxurious bathrooms, premium linens, and Wi-Fi-enabled infotainment. Security features include CCTV cameras and fire alarm systems.

Amenities include the Arogya Spa for therapies and fitness, and two fine-dining restaurants—Ruchi and Nalapak—serving global and local cuisine. The Madira Bar offers premium wines, spirits, and beers. Tickets cover all meals, guided excursions, monument entry fees, and transportation. Bookings are now open via IRCTC.
