Starting April 1, all hotels in Goa will be required to upload guest data in real time using the new ‘TIME’ (Tourist Information Management for Enforcement) software. This initiative aims to enhance security, streamline visitor record management, and improve coordination between hotels and law enforcement agencies.
The new system will replace traditional manual record-keeping, ensuring a more secure and centralized method for maintaining guest details. Hotels must update guest information immediately upon check-in, allowing authorities to monitor real-time occupancy across the state. This move is expected to strengthen security in Goa, which welcomes millions of domestic and international travelers annually.
The digitization of guest records will also ease regulatory compliance for hoteliers by reducing paperwork and administrative efforts. Authorities believe this system will lead to better data accuracy, aiding in safety measures and emergency response. While hotel operators are gearing up for the transition, some concerns remain regarding the software’s seamless integration into existing operations.
Officials have assured industry stakeholders that necessary support and training will be provided to ensure a smooth rollout. With this step, Goa’s hospitality sector is embracing digital transformation, making visitor management more efficient, transparent, and secure.
