Travelers flying through Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) should prepare for a major operational change as Terminal 2 (T2) is set to close for renovation from April for about 4-5 months. During this period, all flights operating from T2 will be relocated to Terminal 1 (T1), ensuring continued passenger movement with minimal disruption.
The temporary closure is part of a broader infrastructure upgrade aimed at enhancing passenger experience and modernizing airport facilities. Authorities have assured that airlines and passengers will receive timely updates regarding schedule changes and revised departure and arrival terminals. Passengers are advised to check their flight details in advance to avoid any last-minute confusion.
T2 currently serves several domestic carriers, and its closure will put additional operational pressure on T1. However, Delhi airport authorities are confident that the transition will be smooth, with adequate arrangements in place to handle the increased passenger flow.
With IGIA being one of the busiest airports in the country, this renovation marks another step in its ongoing expansion plans, ensuring world-class facilities for travelers. The revamped T2 is expected to reopen later in the year with improved services, offering a more seamless and comfortable travel experience.
