January 2, 2025

Alhind Air, a new private airline backed by the Alhind Group, is set to begin operations by mid-2025, with Kochi as its hub. The airline has established its office at Kochi Airport and is gearing up for its inaugural flight, expected to happen after receiving final approval from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Initially operating with two ATR 72-600 aircraft, Alhind Air plans to expand its fleet to seven ATRs within the first year.

Focusing on regional connectivity, the airline aims to link over 40 Indian airports, starting with routes connecting Kerala’s major cities. The airline also plans to extend its services to Gulf countries within 18 months. In the long term, Alhind Air hopes to expand its fleet with wide-body aircraft like the Airbus A320 or Boeing 737. The airline’s emphasis on local growth and regional routes marks a strategic push to tap into the growing demand for domestic travel.
