Rajasthan has introduced India’s first luxury electric cruise on Ana Sagar Lake in Ajmer, marking a significant step in eco-friendly tourism. The e-cruise, owned by JP Dadhich and developed by Board Craft Private Limited from Goa, represents a ₹5 crore investment aimed at boosting the state’s tourism sector while prioritizing sustainability.
This innovative double-decker vessel, made from lightweight fiber, is 22 meters long and capable of navigating waters as shallow as four feet. The cruise can accommodate 150 passengers, split evenly between its air-conditioned lower deck and open-air upper deck. The lower deck offers a cool respite during Ajmer’s hot summers, while the upper deck features a dance floor, ideal for private events or enjoying scenic views.
The luxury e-cruise is designed to minimize environmental impact. Powered by batteries, it produces zero emissions, with future plans to incorporate solar panels for enhanced eco-friendliness. The boat is also equipped with bio-toilets, reducing its footprint on the lake. With safety in mind, the cruise includes CCTV cameras, life jackets, and a rescue boat on standby.
Onboard, passengers can enjoy a variety of cuisines from a fully-equipped kitchen, offering continental dishes, fast food, and fresh juices. Entertainment options include music and dancing on the upper deck, providing a lively atmosphere as guests sail across the tranquil waters of Ana Sagar.
Ana Sagar Lake, a historical site built in the 12th century by Arnoraja, grandfather of Rajput king Prithviraj Chauhan, is surrounded by Mughal-era gardens and marble pavilions, adding cultural significance to the experience. Tickets for the one-hour cruise are priced at ₹350 for adults and ₹250 for children, offering an unforgettable blend of luxury, leisure, and sightseeing.
