Air India and Air New Zealand Join Forces for Better Connectivity

March 25, 2025

In a major boost to international air travel, Air India and Air New Zealand have announced a codeshare partnership to improve connectivity between India and New Zealand. This agreement will allow seamless travel across 16 routes via key transit hubs like Singapore, Sydney, and Melbourne, making it easier for passengers to fly between the two countries.

The partnership ensures smoother bookings, better transit experiences, and increased travel options for passengers from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai. With Air New Zealand operating flights from Australia and Singapore to Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, and Queenstown, Indian travelers will now have more convenient options to reach New Zealand.

Looking ahead, both airlines are also exploring the possibility of launching direct flights between India and New Zealand by 2028. This move, subject to regulatory approvals and aircraft availability, would significantly cut down travel time and foster stronger economic, business, and tourism ties between the two nations.

This strategic collaboration marks an important step in strengthening air connectivity between South Asia and the Pacific, making long-haul travel more accessible while offering an improved passenger experience. The partnership is expected to boost tourism and trade, reinforcing the growing relationship between India and New Zealand.
